This summer, Edible Arrangements is running a “Random Acts of Happiness” campaign encouraging people to perform little – or not so little – acts to make someone’s day brighter. It’s only natural for us to launch this campaign because we are in the happiness business: our products put a smile on everyone’s face. For this event we created a special website at the end of April where individuals and groups could post their acts – either something they did, or something someone did for them. Anyone who visited the site could vote for their favorite. From all the acts posted, the 16 top stores were identified, and now visitors can vote for their favorites from among these 16. The individual winner will receive $10,000 and the group will receive $20,000. As our own act of happiness, we will donate an additional $20,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s premiere youth mentoring organization. This campaign gave our franchisees a perfect opportunity to piggyback on the nation program with a local one, and that’s exactly what 15 stores in the Metro Detroit area did.
The Metro Detroit area stores got together and decided that they wanted to get involved with their communities by giving back to certain events and charities that often look to their stores for arrangements. These Metro Detroit Edible Arrangements stores are giving out fruit bouquets in their communities through the end of the summer. Each store owner is recognizing four people or groups from among the customers they serve.
Ben and Phyllis Muzljakovich choose the recipients from among their customers and those who make donations to the many causes they support. These owners also ask their employees for suggestions, because they are the ones interacting with the customers on a daily basis. Their first Random Act was to provide First Lt. Michael Krogh with a Patriotic Party arrangement during his farewell party.
We congratulate all the stores in the Metro Detroit area who banded together for this joint venture, and who are spreading random happiness throughout the region.
