5 Questions With Matthew Papallo, Revenue Audit Manager

Our “5 Questions With” blog segment gives you the inside scoop on the inner workings of Edible Arrangements® by bringing you an exclusive look at the work lives of some EA corporate employees. This week, we talked to our Revenue Audit Manager, Matthew Papallo, to learn a little more about how he assists our franchise partners track their funds… down to the last penny!

1)      What are you working on right now (if you can tell us)?

My top responsibility is overseeing EAI’s Loss Prevention Initiative. We are continuously monitoring the EAI system, and are looking for better ways to help our franchise partners protect their stores.  I’m also spearheading several exciting projects that will help our franchise partners maximize their profitability.

2)      What is the absolute best part of your job?

I’ve been able to help dozens of franchise partners identify specific sources of losses at their stores, and then helped resolve these situations as soon as possible. The appreciation they have shown has been incredible, and is certainly the most rewarding and best part of my job.

3)      What’s your favorite kind of chocolate dipped fruit? Toppings?

The absolute best chocolate dipped fruit is the Cinnamon Chocolate Apple Wedges® Box.  While all of our dipped fruit options are amazing, these are in a league of their own.

4)      Tell us something you’ve learned while working for Edible Arrangements®?

When the right people come together, anything is possible.  Over 15 years ago this company started as a flower shop, and look at where we are today.  Tariq [Farid, our President & CEO], the franchise partners, and the people in our building have completely changed the landscape of the gifting industry.

5)      What’s the best part about working for a company like Edible Arrangements®?

I spent many years as a Governmental Auditor, so I have a pretty lengthy list of why I find Edible Arrangements® so enjoyable.  But if I had to pick one, I’d say the people.  From the Operations Team, to the entire EAI office, and to our franchise partners, I’ve been able to work with some talented and amazing people.  It makes coming to work every day such a wonderful experience.
