Morning Routines of Bosses We Admire

According to the experts, getting into a good morning routine can help you be more productive throughout the day. Whether it’s working out, reading the paper, or enjoying a cup of coffee, something that many of the most successful people in the world have in common is a morning routine that helps get them focused and ready to conquer the day.
So, in honor of Boss’s Day coming up on October 16th, we’ve gathered some morning rituals of bosses we admire to help give you some ideas to elevate your morning game and set each day up for success:

Arianna Huffington, Co-founder & Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post

Arianna is arguably one of New York City’s busiest women. Nonetheless, she knows the importance of a good morning routine because it can help give you a calm, efficient, and fulfilling start to your day. She is a strong believer in the value of sleep, and needs eight hours of rest time each night. As a result, 95% of the time she doesn’t need an alarm clock to wake up, allowing her to wake up naturally! Instead of looking at her phone or email first thing in the morning, she takes the time to breathe, be grateful, and set her goals for the day. It’s important for her to also get in a morning workout and meditation routine. She starts off with 20-30 minutes of meditation followed by 30 minutes on her stationary bike.

Jeff Bezos, CEO & Founder of Amazon

Bezos is a big believer in getting enough sleep, a full 8 hours to be exact! He wakes up naturally every morning, without the help of an alarm clock. He always starts the day by sharing and enjoying a healthy breakfast with his wife. To spend quality time in the morning with his wife and their four children, he never schedules early-morning meetings.

Barbara Corcoran, Founder of The Corcoran Group and “shark” on Shark Tank

Barbara’s mornings are full of activity and exercise. She exercises for an hour on alternating days and jogs to the office! One awesome tip is that she creates a to-do list at the end of each day, then spends time in the morning reviewing the list she made the night before. She organizes those task by priority and completes those first. She finds that this helps her to stay focused on the tasks at hand and accomplish her daily goals.

Howard Shultz, American Businessman & former CEO of Starbucks

Howard’s routine is straightforward and simple: he kicks off his day by walking his three dogs, and goes for a bike ride. Prior to heading to the office, he makes coffee for his wife and himself.

 

 

 

 

Does your morning start with hitting the snooze button? How about a delicious smoothie made from your favorite ingredients? While there’s not an ideal morning routine that fits every personality, we can learn a lot from the morning rituals of leaders we admire.
