This week, we sat down with Assistant Controller, Sania Mahmood, to find out more about the Edible Arrangements® Finance and Accounting team.

1.       What are you working on right now?

I’m working on a variety of projects and initiatives focused on making the Finance and Accounting team a role model for the entire organization by better serving our customers —  our customers are our beloved franchisees and their guests, our partners at Catterton, our vendors and, of course, our colleagues here in the corporate office.

Some of our recent accomplishments: a significant reduction in month-end close completion time, tightening up our daily processes through automation, and implementing advanced policies and procedures to cut down on redundancy.

2.       What is the absolute best part about your job?

For me, it’s the thrill of being part of a rapidly growing business, and diving into new and exciting projects on a daily basis. The Finance and Accounting department’s mission is to strive towards a culture of continuous improvement.  We are always looking to streamline our processes in order to improve efficiency…In simple terms: Taking things to the NEXT level! 

3.       What’s your favorite kind of chocolate dipped fruit?

Cinnamon Chocolate Apple Wedges®.

4.       Tell us something you’ve learned while working at Edible Arrangements®

I’ve learned that anyone can do hard work; the difference lies in a proactive versus a reactive approach. With the company’s best interest at heart, we want to ensure that our customers on all ends are served with excellence that is rooted in a culture of being two steps ahead.

5.       What WOWs you?

Anyone who is proactive WOWs me. That’s where I get my motivation! When I hear from a franchisee who is utilizing and maximizing the functionality of the resources that we have developed, and allows us to test the latest initiatives on their stores, that WOWs me. When I hear that a colleague was here in the middle of the night or at the crack of dawn working to ensure a project launches smoothly for our franchisees and their customers, that WOWs me. When I see magic happening in this building in the days and weeks before (and the days and nights during) our peak holidays to support our franchisees, that WOWs me.
